jim... - posted on 5/7/2021 8:03:11 PM From some of the reviews, apparently some folks don't know how to cook corned beef. Follow time directions and there is no problem. I have bought J. P. O'Reilley's for several years at Shop Rite and when cooked correctly, it is not salty, the flavor packet (I tie it in a cheesecloth bag) gives a nice flavor, and the meat (cut on the angle) is not tough. A little trick I learned from some older folks is to cook each vegetable - cabbage, potatoes, carrots in the meat juice separately. Each veggie retains its own flavor, enhanced by the juice.

lyn... - posted on 3/29/2017 2:40:59 PM We bought 3 corned beefs at Manahawkin Shop Rite. 2 were completely tasteless and the cooking water was unusually clear. The 3rd is in the Refrigerator and will probably go back to SR. I have been cooking corned beef for over 30 years. I can say this is a first.
bor... - posted on 3/18/2017 6:32:46 AM I purchased a corned beef on sale at my local Shoprite for cooking on St. Patrick's Day. Not only was the meat so salty, it made all the vegetables the same. We couldn't eat the meal. I am very disappointed with this product. I have bought and cooked corned beef before and never had this problem. Ruined St. Patrick Day!
